This is an interpolating 32x8 step sequencer. This MIDI module is similar to the sequencer in Bum Note and Drum Synth. In this case either MIDI Note On/Off events or MIDI control data is sent. Each channel of the sequencer sends data to the device selected in the top control strip. This can be the internal MIDI buses and so be used by other instruments in the studio. In fact, it is designed primarily with this in mind.
Whilst the channel is in "Control" mode, ctrl-click or right-click on any control in any instrument. Once it is high-lighted in cyan or magenta, press the [Learn] button and that control will be assigned to the channel. The name of the control will be added to the text field which is editable. Multiple controls can be assigned to one channel. To edit these controls, press either the [Cntrl] or [All] buttons along the top. They will take you to the editor for either this sequencer or all instruments respectfully.
The sequencer can interpolate at a high rate. If you are controlling many things at the same time, it can be CPU intensive. As a general rule, the interpolation can be set to the same value as the speed to give smooth transitions between values.
You can draw lines of values in the sequencer by using the right mouse button or alt clicking.
- On/Off &Solo - turns Step Sequencer On/Off or solos it.
- Always On - means the module is always on regardless of whether solo is active or not. This is useful if you have a several instruments being controlled by Step Sequencer and you always want it working.
- MIDI - opens a window to select the MIDI in & out channels + ports. See MIDI Devices & Controls.
- MIDI Control Editor - opens the MIDI Control editor and allows you to edit the MIDI controls you set up on this sequencer. Like all other instruemnts this can have its controls controled, even by itself. See MIDI Devices & Controls.
- All - opens the MIDI Control editor and allows you to edit all MIDI controls in the studio. See MIDI Devices & Controls.
- Sync - synchronises the sequencer in seconds. You can start it early or delay it depending on your needs. This is useful if you are using external audio equipment or Phase Vocoder / Fast Fourier Transform effects which naturally delay audio. If you need to synchronise all external MIDI equipment there is also a dedicated Global MIDI Sync found in the preferences.
- Preset Manager - Add, remove or select presets, see Presets & Programs.
- On / Off - each channel can be turned on/off.
- Control / Note - type of MIDI data sent. Either Control or Note On/Off events.
- Learn - send out a learn event so this channel can be assigned to a control.
- Text Field - the names of the controls learned will be added here. This field can be edited.
- Interp - rate of interpolation, only occurs between adjacent values in the sequence. If there is no value the interpolation will be skipped.
- The sequence - represents the changing value over time. You can change an individual step or you can draw lines of values in the sequence by using the right mouse button or alt clicking.

- Ruler - The ruler which splits the sequence over an number of beats.
- Steps - The number of steps in the sequence
- Speed - The speed of the sequence as a divider of the MIDI clock tempo. Higher values go slower. i.e when set to 4 the sequencer will go at a 1/4 of the full tempo.
- MIDI - The note or control number to send MIDI data to.
- Dur - duration to play Note On events for.
- Adj - adjust the velocity or value of the MIDI data.
